1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device to remember information about your visit (for example, keeping you signed in or remembering your preferences). We also use similar browser-storage technologies for equivalent purposes.
2. Which cookies we use
2.1. Strictly necessary (always on)
They enable the site’s basic functionality and don’t require your consent:
- Session / authentication: keep you signed in when you use your account.
- Consent preference: remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics and advertising cookies, so we don’t ask again on every visit.
2.2. Cookieless product analytics (always on)
We use PostHog to understand how the platform is used (page views, searches, most-visited sections). It stores nothing on your device (no cookies, no local storage), does not record your screen, and discards your IP address after deriving your country. If you sign in, it is linked to an internal account id, never your name or email.
2.3. Analytics and advertising (require your consent)
They let us measure visits to the site and how our ads on Google and Meta perform. They are not loaded until you accept them in the cookie banner, and they are deleted if you later withdraw your consent.
- Google Tag Manager — loads the tools below; sets no cookies of its own.
- Google Analytics 4 (
_ga,_ga_*, up to 2 years) — tells visits apart to measure site traffic. - Google Ads (
_gcl_au, 90 days) — measures which ads lead to visits and sign-ups. - Meta Pixel (
_fbp,_fbc, 90 days) — measures and improves our ads on Facebook and Instagram.
3. Your choice
The first time you visit CLAP we show a banner with two options: Accept (we turn on analytics and advertising cookies) or Decline (strictly-necessary cookies only). You can change your decision from the cookie settings or by blocking/deleting cookies in your browser; note that disabling strictly-necessary cookies may affect how the site works.
